Our Twenty-first Century Dental Office
 Reception Area
Computerized Patient Records
We utilize "Eaglesoft" Dental Software. This advanced computer software allows instant communication between the Dr and the office team. Patient information is handled smoothly and securely via an office intranet. Each treatment area has dual LCD screens. The large 19" LCD is positioned on an arm that allows you close-up views of all information, radiographs, or photographs.
Schick Digital Radiography (X-rays)
Digital x-rays have replaced the old film-based methods. The Schick system works with Eaglesoft to provide a seamless integration into your clinical record. This allows instant viewing and computer enhancements to the images to help Dr Jon diagnose your problem quicker and more accurately. Because it is digital, you are exposed to less than 1/3 (one third) of the radiation that an old film-based x-ray required!
Intra-Oral Photography
The Schick Intra-Oral Camera works with Eaglesoft. This miniature camera (slightly larger than a pen) is used to view the teeth and gums tissue up -close and personal- with magnifications of 1:1 to 20:1 !!! All in full living color.
Cerac 3-D SAME DAY CROWNS
The Cerac 3-D is a CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-assisted manufacturing) machine that will mill an all-porcelain, tooth colored crown in one visit! That's right! A crown in ONE VISIT!! NO impression. NO second visit. NO temporary. How cool is that? They are designed and milled from a solid block of the best ceramic available. The exact same porcelain as the popular "Empress" porcelain from Ivoclar.
Diagnodent Laser
The Diagnodent is a cavity detecting laser. The laser is touched to a suspicious area on a tooth and it will quantify the tooth to aid in finding cavities that are too small to show up on x-rays or be "poked" with the dental explorer. This allows Dr Jon to eliminate the cavity while it is a smaller defect, rather than wait for it to hurt or damage large areas of your tooth.
Diode Laser
The Diode Laser is a painless alternate to scalpels and stitches! Laser light is used to sterilize and/or remove unwanted soft tissue that used to be removed by a scalpel. No stitches. No bleeding. No pain. A true dental "magic wand".
Digital Photography
Dr. Jon is an accomplished photographer. All of the patient photos in the office were taken by Dr Jon! The office has a permanent, professional photography studio ready to photograph your new smile. Flattering studio lighting and a Canon D-60 (6 megapixel) digital camera combine to showcase your new smile.
Zoom Whitening
Although we offer three different levels of whitening procedures, the ZOOM system featured by Dr Dorfman on "EXTREME MAKEOVERS" is the ultimate in rapid tooth whitening. If you need it tomorrow, we have it for you today.

3-I "CERTAIN" Implants
If you are in need of implants, Dr Jon uses the new, exciting "Certain" implant from industry leader 3-I. These implants feature a connection to the above-the-gum parts that is superior to the old design. An internal hex with a 12-point anti-rotation index ensure positive lock, secure, long-lasting restorations.
Sordex Tome Advanced Imaging
This high-tech machine takes all of the "regular" films, like Panorexs, Cephalographs, etc…..but it also takes axially-corrected tomographs (CAT Scans). These are critical for proper implant placement. The machine is also capable of taking CAT SCANS of the TMJ. These "bread-slice" images of the jaw joint are essential in proper diagnosis of problems associated with the joint.
Computerized Jaw Measurements (K-7)
The Myotronics K-7 is a computer capable of measuring many parameters.
- CMT Computerized Mandibular Tracking. This documents function and range of motion of the jaws.
- Sonography. This records and analyses sounds and noises that damaged joints make. The specific noises and the patterns help identify internal problems without the need for surgery or MRIs.
- Electromyography. This records the health and status of the muscles that move the jaws, much like an EKG can record the heart muscles.
Ultra-low frequency TENS
TENS (Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) Because it is "ultra-low frequency" TENS, it is used to relax, recharge and rejuvenate muscles that have been fighting an unbalanced bite. (Unlike pain "blocking" TENS used for back muscles, which works by exhausting the muscles). Often headaches, face pain, and restricted movement are alleviated by TENSing.
